A 47-year-old woman in the US gave birth to a baby girl just one hour after learning she was pregnant.
Judy Brown went to a hospital in Beverly, Massachusetts, on Wednesday complaining of severe abdominal pain and thinking she might have gallstones.
However, after an examination, the doctor told Judy that she was, in fact, pregnant and due to give birth soon.

Just an hour later, she gave birth to her first child, Carolyn Rose, weighing 3.7kg.
Recalling the moment she was told she was pregnant, Judy told Inside Edition, “The doctor said, ‘Well, that’s good news. There’s no blockage or anything. You’re pregnant and you’re going to give birth now.'”
Her husband Jason said the couple had no idea Judy was expecting a baby, despite his wife’s stomach feeling a bit “weird” in recent months.

“When I touched my daughter’s belly, I thought, ‘She doesn’t look fat,’ because most weight gain is loose and soft,” he said. “And this was painful, but we didn’t think anything of it.”
And despite experiencing some symptoms, Judy never even considered that she might be pregnant.
Instead, she attributed her weight gain to menopause.

“I’ve been married for 22 years and I never thought I’d get pregnant,” she said. “It just never crossed my mind.”
After giving birth, Judy had to rent a cot and car seat just to leave the hospital.
Dr. Kimberly Geksi, an obstetrician-gynecologist at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, said it’s rare but possible for a woman to be unaware she’s pregnant.
“Sometimes people don’t know about it or they’re in denial, and the denial can be quite strong,” she said.
