It’s been years since a major Halo remake came to fruition, with a Halo TV series finally airing on Paramount Plus in 2022 and a second season airing earlier this year. However, the series was quickly canceled after only two seasons. Now, newly surfaced rumors claim that film director Christopher Nolan wants to buy the rights to a Halo TV series.
As you can see below, the rumor was shared on X via @SmallScreenCo. They claimed to have received the news from @iiamcloudman, but his original post on the subject has since been deleted. However, a new post reiterates the alleged details.
Here’s what they shared:
“Nolan and his team have reportedly reached out to Amblin Television and 343 Industries regarding purchasing the rights to a Halo TV series!”
The post also explains why Nolan is a likely candidate to acquire the rights.
“Nolan is a huge video game fan and has several ideas for adapting them for the big and small screen!”
It looks like Christopher Nolan might be considering reviving the canceled Halo series! 😱

So much for the details. But it’s worth noting that his ideas are also said to be intended for the “big screen,” so the next Halo project could take shape as a feature film project from Christopher Nolan. Of course, you should take all of this with a pinch of salt until there’s official confirmation on the matter.
There’s obviously still a lot of potential for adaptation within the Halo series, and fans have been clamoring for more or more faithful adaptations after the Paramount Plus series, so maybe that’s a possibility in the future. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for more updates on the Halo series as they come in. While it’s unconfirmed at this point, if Christopher Nolan does acquire the rights to Halo, one can only imagine what he could do with the brand.
