You can add Paddy Pimblett’s name to the list of UFC fighters interested in moving to WWE.
The 29-year-old is scheduled to face Bobby Green in a lightweight bout tonight at UFC 304. He spoke to DAZN ahead of the fight and was asked about the possibility of appearing for TKO’s wrestling team.
“Yes, I have thought about it, to be honest,” Pimblett replied.
“I loved WWE as a kid, so I love it. Shawn Michaels, The Heartbreak Kid is my favorite fighter. I’d love to do Sweet Chin Music to someone in the UFC cage. D-Generation X, when I was younger, X-Pac was my favorite wrestler.”
“Yeah, I would. WWE pays a lot of money and you have to have character and personality and I have personality so I think it would work. So yeah, Triple H, if you want to sign me, just let me know and I’ll show up for the money.”
Pimblett is 5-0 since making his UFC debut in September 2021. He most recently defeated Tony Ferguson at UFC 296 via unanimous decision.
UFC president Dana White said he is open to the idea of UFC fighters moving to WWE.
“Look, some of the fighters that fight here have always dreamed of a WWE match or whatever, and I’m open to that,” White told media after the fight in May. “I wasn’t open to that when Vince kept fucking me over for no reason, and now that’s not the case anymore, of course I’m open to it.”
UFC heavyweight Derrick Lewis previously said he was “in negotiations” with WWE.
“Yeah, we’re actually in discussions right now. We’ve been talking about it for months now. We were planning on going there in February to go over everything.”
