The start of the new Premier League season is fast approaching as Liverpool continue their pre-season and are currently in the United States, intensifying their preparations for a new era at Anfield.
Arne Slott has taken over from Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool’s new manager and, as the summer transfer window gets underway, he has been busy assessing his squad over the first few weeks of pre-season.
Liverpool have not made any new signings so far this summer, but there is plenty of time for that to change before the transfer deadline on September 2. Despite the lack of new signings, the Reds are said to continue to be interested in a number of players this summer.
The ECHO has rounded up some of the latest Liverpool transfer rumours circulating online and on social media over the last 24 hours.
Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund forward Donyell Malen, and reports earlier this summer suggested the club could be in talks to sign the Netherlands international, but now new information has emerged.
According to Caught Offside, Liverpool will compete with Arsenal this summer for Malen, a Dutch player who came through the Emirates Stadium youth system and moved to PSV in 2018. Malen has a release clause worth £34 million (€40 million) which both Liverpool and Arsenal are said to be considering exercising.
However, it is said Malen would prefer a move to Arsenal over Liverpool if offers were made from both clubs, with reports concluding that Liverpool are keen to sign Malen as a back-up to Mohamed Salah.
Meanwhile, Ryan Gravenberch is rumoured to be on the verge of leaving Liverpool this summer, with Turkish outlet Yeni Safak reporting that Galatasaray are interested in signing the midfielder.
Reports are that Galatasaray are looking to sign Gravenberch on loan for next season, with the Süper League club’s director of football Cenk Ergun reportedly set to travel to England to negotiate a deal with Liverpool for the midfielder.
