Here’s a sign-up perk that’s sure to get football fans’ ears pumping: Verizon will give customers on certain plans access to YouTube’s NFL Sunday Ticket out-of-market game package for the 2024-25 season at no extra cost.
Under this special promotion, Verizon customers who sign up or upgrade to certain wireless and home internet plans will receive a free NFL Sunday Ticket for next season, normally priced at up to $449, if they act by December 10, 2024.
The offer is available to new Verizon Mobile premium unlimited mobile customers (or existing customers who add a new line to their account) who purchase select smartphones (such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, or Google Pixel Fold) and sign up for a mobile line with the Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate plan. New Verizon Home Internet customers who sign up for a premium Verizon Home Internet plan (5G Home Plus or LTE Home Plus, or Fios 1 Gig or 2 Gig) can also get Sunday Ticket for free. Additionally, the offer is also available to existing customers who upgrade to one of the plans included in the promotion.
Currently, YouTube’s Sunday Ticket (available as a standalone package and via YouTube TV) includes all out-of-market Sunday NFL regular season games broadcast on Fox and CBS.
Verizon customers who already have a wireless myPlan or home internet plan can enjoy $100 off NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube and YouTubeTV. For more information, visit verizon.com/sundayticket.
Terms of Verizon’s deal with Google to promote Sunday Ticket were not disclosed. Under the deal, the carrier will likely pay Google a wholesale per-subscriber fee and absorb it as a customer acquisition cost.
Additionally, Verizon is offering YouTube TV for home internet customers through its myHome platform for $10 off per month for one year. With this special promotion, eligible Verizon home internet customers can get the YouTube TV Basic plan (normally priced at $72.99 per month) for just $62.99 per month for 12 months.
Additionally, the company will be giving away tickets to all 32 NFL games every week until the end of the season through its Verizon Access Rewards program.
Google has inked a seven-year deal with the NFL to sell Sunday Ticket via YouTube starting in the 2023-24 season, snatching it from longtime partner DirecTV.
Separately, last month a federal jury ordered the NFL to pay $4.7 billion to former Sunday Ticket customers after finding that the league conspired with DirecTV and network partners to inflate prices for exclusive game packages. The NFL is appealing the ruling.
