As the arrival of Kamala Harris and the departure of Joe Biden rekindles the Democratic Party’s ambition to defeat Donald Trump, one of the left’s favorite weapons – censorship of free media – seems to have been reactivated. YouTube yesterday shut down the VOZ channel, where short English videos and statements by politicians were uploaded, for alleged “disinformation”, without providing any explanation or indicating which publications violated the platform’s rules. VOZ’s appeal against this arbitrary and unfair measure was rejected as soon as it was received.
VOZ has always been characterized as a media outlet that analyzes political and social news with a clear focus on Hispanics. From defending conservatism and national values, it has always given a voice to all political parties, separating opinion from factual narratives and tackling the most touchy issues with objectivity and criteria.
It seems no coincidence that with the election campaign on the brink of further intensifying with Harris’ arrival, and with the fundamental Latino vote at stake more than ever before, media outlets seeking to inform Hispanic voters are more exposed than ever to the designs of social platforms in their notorious collusion with the establishment, particularly the left and the Biden administration, to censor and silence dissenting voices.
This is not the first time VOZ has been the victim of censorship on social platforms: its Instagram account with over 12,000 followers was similarly shut down, only to be reinstated after an appeal, only to be censored permanently without any explanation.
For the time being, and as long as permitted, you can follow our content on the Spanish VOZ channel by clicking here.
