The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a new scheme to issue insurance at the time of tourist visa issuance, without providing specific details on the start date or additional costs. The insurance protection will be available when applying for a visa on the Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) website. Under the new scheme, packages from leading insurance companies will be available on the ICP site when applying for a visa. Currently, individuals applying for a tourist visa through a travel agent must purchase insurance separately.
For those who want to amend their visa…
Those who need to update or amend their visa details must do so within 60 days. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) pointed out that amendment applications submitted after the stipulated period will not be accepted. The application must also be accompanied by the necessary documents. Meanwhile, the amended visa will be issued within two days of application. If you need to update or change your name, occupation or sponsor’s address, you can apply for it. The authority pointed out that applicants do not need to be in the UAE to complete these formalities. You must submit the original visa and a copy of your passport along with your application. Applications should be submitted after checking the issue date and ensure that they are completed within 60 days. There is a service fee of 200 dirhams, of which 100 dirhams is for smart services, 50 dirhams is the application fee and 50 dirhams is the fee for the authority’s e-service facility.
The fee varies depending on the applicant’s requirements. You can also apply through the UAEICP mobile application and other smart gateways. If the ICP requests you to reapply for an incomplete or unclear application, the applicant must comply. Failure to reapply may result in your application being cancelled. Applications so cancelled may be resubmitted within 30 days. Applications that have been rejected up to three times may not be resubmitted. If the service fee for a rejected application was paid through credit card, the amount will be refunded within six months. The money may also be transferred to an approved bank account in the UAE. The process should be completed within five years.
