A proposed deal between Google parent Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL) and cybersecurity company Wyz that would have valued the company at $23 billion fell apart after Wyz CEO Assaf Rapaport told employees the company would instead pursue an IPO.
General Motors (GM) reported second-quarter earnings and revealed a recovery in demand for EVs. It beat profit expectations by a wide margin and raised its full-year guidance. Coca-Cola (KO) also reported second-quarter earnings and raised its full-year guidance, saying it saw stronger global demand for its products due to consumer caution. Technology giants Alphabet and Tesla (TSLA) are scheduled to report their latest quarterly results after the close of trading today, giving Wall Street its first look at how big tech companies performed in the second quarter.
