Eid al-Fitr (March 29th – April 3rd)
In 2025, Eid al-Fitr is scheduled to begin on Sunday, March 30. According to the Islamic lunar calendar, the Eid holiday falls on Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3. However, these are tentative dates and will be confirmed later based on moon observations.
Arafat Day and Eid al-Adha (June 6th – June 9th)
Starting Monday, June 6, UAE residents will have a four-day holiday following Arafat Day, followed by three days of Eid Al-Adha celebrations, with hotels, resorts and theme parks set to offer special offers and discounts to help people make the most of the celebrations.
Hijri New Year (June 26th)
The Islamic or Hijri New Year is scheduled to be celebrated in the UAE on Thursday, June 26, 2025.
Birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (September 4th)
The birthday of the Prophet Muhammad is celebrated as a public holiday in the UAE. In 2025, the event will be celebrated at sunset on Thursday, September 4th, and will end at sunset on Friday, September 5th.
According to the Islamic lunar calendar, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad is on the 12th day of Rabi’ al-Awwal, the fourth month of the Islamic calendar. According to the Gregorian solar calendar, the date varies depending on the sighting of the moon.
Anniversary and UAE National Day (1st-3rd December)
As per tradition, the anniversary will be celebrated on December 1st, while UAE National Day will be celebrated on December 2nd and 3rd.
Formerly known as Martyrs’ Day, the anniversary honours those who gave their lives for the well-being of their country. It is an annual public holiday that was first celebrated in 2015.
UAE National Day marks the annual celebration of the founding of the United Arab Emirates, with grand celebrations held across the country to mark the occasion.
