These living room parties have been around on YouTube for over a decade. Early channels like Boiler Room helped establish the now-familiar scene: a DJ standing behind his equipment, eager fans waiting for the beat to drop. Today, Boiler Room has hosted over 3,000 live streams on its channel.* Over the years, DJs have embraced new scenery and settings (even an elevator?). But despite the changing environments, these experiences continue to share a common goal: bringing emerging talent and underground sounds directly to audiences, wherever they are.
It’s no surprise, then, that the band adopted this format for their unique closing set at Coachella last year.
As the iconic Belgian festival Tomorrowland kicks off today, we’re treated to a range of DJ live sets, and if you head over to YouTube you’ll find a special version of the YouTube logo (known as the Yoodle) and a playlist that’ll keep you dancing all night long.
We also partner with DJs from all over the world to bring you videos of never before heard mixes. Click here to get the party started.
