The United Arab Emirates has launched a nationwide campaign to support the Lebanese people. The campaign, entitled “UAE stands with Lebanon”, will run from October 8 to 21, 2024. The campaign mobilizes the entire UAE community, including individuals, groups, and organizations from both the public and private sectors, to provide aid to Lebanon. Aid allocation is being coordinated with international partners including the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

He is the Executive Director of the International Humanitarian Council and is spearheading this effort. He highlighted the UAE leadership’s commitment to supporting the Lebanese people in the face of the humanitarian crisis and expressed confidence in the UAE community’s readiness to stand by those facing hardship.
The campaign follows the recent directive by UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for an emergency relief package worth $100 million for Lebanon. As part of this effort, the UAE has already dispatched six planes carrying around 205 tonnes of essential supplies, including medical equipment, food, relief supplies and shelter provisions.
