The National League’s two division series resumed Tuesday with Game 3 in New York and San Diego, with both series tied at 1-1.
In the opening matchup, Aaron Nola of the Phillies will face Sean Manaea of the Mets. Bryce Harper and Nick Castellanos headlined Game 2 in Philadelphia, with Harper hitting a huge two-run homer in the sixth inning, followed by a solo shot by Castellanos, and a walk-off RBI by Castellanos to seal the victory. Ta. Bottom of the 9th inning. Mark Vientos had a big game for the Mets, hitting two home runs and losing. He has a slash line of .400/.429/1.179 this postseason.
In the second game in the West, Walker Buehler will take the mound for the Dodgers and face Michael King of the Padres. King was thoroughly dominant in his first start of the 2024 postseason, winning Game 1 of the Wild Card Series against the Atlanta Braves with seven shutout innings and 12 strikeouts. Buehler has a 2.94 ERA in 15 postseason games, and the Dodgers are 9-5 in those games. The Padres won 10-2 in Game 2 thanks to two home runs by Fernando Tatis Jr., and the series could get even more intense.
