The campaign announcement comes shortly after President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered an emergency aid package worth US$100 million as part of the country’s efforts to support the Lebanese people.
The UAE sent six planes carrying around 205 tonnes of medical supplies, food, relief supplies and shelter equipment. This was done in collaboration with international partners including the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
