President Sheikh Mohammed held high-level talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Belgrade on Saturday, during a day working visit to Serbia, where the two leaders oversaw the conclusion of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (SEPA).
The agreement paves the way for increased trade and investment flows between the two countries and bilateral private sector cooperation, state news agency Wam reported.
Sheikh Mohammed hailed the exchange of Sepa as a milestone in UAE-Serbia relations. He said: “The Cepa exchange with Serbia is a notable step forward in our efforts to build a network of trade agreements that accelerate investment, foster knowledge sharing and create joint venture opportunities in high-growth sectors. ”.

The two leaders explored ways to expand cooperation as part of the strategic partnership between the countries, and reiterated the progress already made towards strengthening cooperation in key areas such as investment, economy, trade, technology, food security and renewable energy. Upon arriving at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, Sheikh Mohammed was greeted by Vučić, who accompanied the guests to the airport for their departure.

Sheikh Mohamed met with Vučić in the Serbian capital in June last year and discussed efforts to strengthen security in the Balkans.
The visit to Belgrade comes after Sheikh Mohammed traveled to Egypt on Thursday on another working visit, meeting with President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi and witnessing the signing of an important agreement between the long-time allies.
