When you work in arts and entertainment reporting, and part of your job is to keep up with what’s on TV, Broadway, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art (both the museum and the Opera House), people around you are constantly asking questions. I’ll hold you. clock? What should I read? What should you see while in town?
But how do you know when to clap during an orchestral concert? Is it okay to take a slightly casual friend to the opera? Is there a right way to start watching the ‘Real Housewives’ show? What should I do if I’m late for a Broadway show?
What questions do we have about our wonderful, but sometimes complex, intimidating, or confusing culture that spans all genres: theater, music, film, dance, television, art, video games, and more? I would like to know. It’s not so easy to label. What’s something you’ve always wondered? (Is the American or British version of “The Office” better?) If you met a critic or reporter in person, what question would you ask?
If you fill out this form, a Times journalist may publish the answers to your questions. We will not publish or share your contact information, but we will use it to let you know that we are addressing your question and will share the answer once it is published.
