Ever since the hit comedy film was released in 2004, October 3 has been commonly referred to and celebrated as “Mean Girls Day.” Why is this so?
Early in the film, Cady Heron, played by Lindsay Lohan, starts talking “more and more” to the person she likes. “On October 3rd, he asked me what day it was,” Lohan said in a voiceover montage of her interactions with her crush Aaron Samuels, played by Jonathan Bennett.
“Today is October 3rd,” Lohan says in the scene.
Fans of the now-famous scene have begun posting memes and paying homage to the film every year on this day. Some movie stars also participate in this tradition.

In 2022, Lohan and Netflix promoted their film Falling for Christmas on Instagram with the caption, “It’s October 3rd. So mark your calendars for November 10th.” I posted it jointly.
