The Kansas City Chiefs’ undefeated record remains intact after a 17-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
Unfortunately, the victory came at a high price.
In the first quarter of Sunday’s game, star wide receiver Lachie Rice collided with quarterback Patrick Mahomes and was taken to the locker room.
Rice suffered an unspecified knee injury and was initially listed as questionable, but the Chiefs quickly demoted his status to out.
After a great start to the 2024 season, Rice had the second-most receiving yards in the NFL heading into Week 4. Now, if his knee injury turns out to be as serious as some analysts fear, he could end up missing significant time.
Fans and players, including Robert Griffin III and Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown, expressed support for the high-profile wide receiver on Twitter after Rice’s injury.
Here’s what they had to say:
I’m very disappointed. But injuries are part of the game. Over the past six years, the Chiefs have generally been blessed with injuries. Currently, Rice, Brown, and Pacheco are not available for most of the season. Other players have to step up as well. https://t.co/fiGKPh347z
