Marvel Studios star Samuel L. Jackson is apparently pretty upset about not being invited to star in 2018’s Black Panther.
The Hitman’s Bodyguard star said that Nick Fury won’t be appearing in Avengers 3, Avengers 4 or Black Panther, but it seems what annoys him most is his character’s exclusion from Marvel’s Africa-set adventure.
“I wasn’t in the ‘Superhero Controversy’ movie. [‘Captain America: Civil War’]”I’m not in Avengers 3 or Avengers 4. Those are filming now, but I haven’t been contacted about them yet,” Jackson told Yahoo Movies.
“They wouldn’t let me go in the Black Panther world. It’s like making a black Marvel movie and not having Nick Fury in it!”
Editor’s note: The above interview was filmed before Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige confirmed Nick Fury’s appearance in 2019’s Captain Marvel.

“Black Panther” is the first solo appearance for the Marvel hero introduced in “The Superhero Argument Movie” — er, Chadwick Boseman’s character in “Captain America: Civil War.”
Black Panther, due for release in February 2018, is set primarily in the fictional African country of Wakanda and features a majority of its cast of African or African-American characters.
In the MCU, Nick Fury hasn’t been seen since Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but made a brief appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron. If Jackson is to be believed, his character’s next appearance in the MCU will be in 2019’s 1990s-set Captain Marvel, which will be a prequel to the main MCU storyline (minus The First Avenger).

It was recently revealed that Samuel L. Jackson’s numerous superhero cameos have led to him being unseated as the highest-grossing actor of all time by none other than Marvel legend Stan Lee, but Jackson says he is not included in any cameos.
“How does Stan join the conversation?” he asked us.
“Stan is not part of the conversation. It’s just me and Harrison Ford here. Stan is not part of the conversation. I don’t believe that! Harrison is acceptable, Stan is not.”
Samuel L. Jackson plays the lead role of a hitman in the new action comedy “The Hitman’s Bodyguard,” which hits theaters this week on August 18th.
