They need to stop Georgia’s defense if they want this game to get out of hand early.
8:31 p.m.: Georgia is now in trouble. Carson Beck and the Bulldogs are unable to convert third-and-fours due to Beck’s inaccurate throws. To top it off, there was another offensive pass interference against UGA on a third-down play.
Beck completed 2 of 7 passes for 19 yards. Jalen Milroe was 7-of-7 for 106 yards. Alabama begins the drive at its own 33 after a poor punt.
Garmie Bernard, Alabama, scores after interception of Carson Beck
8:26 p.m.: Jermie Bernard scores a 7-yard touchdown to give Alabama a 21-0 lead with 2:21 left in the first quarter. This shows the Crimson Tide’s dominance in every aspect of the game so far. The drive was three plays, 21 yards, and lasted 1 minute, 25 seconds.
What a debut film for Karen DeBoer.

8:10 p.m.: Georgia moves the ball to the Alabama 39-yard line. However, missed deep ball opportunities and offensive pass interference stalled the Bulldogs’ momentum.
With 7 minutes and 50 seconds left in the first quarter, Alabama takes control at its own 16-yard line.

Alabama vs Georgia predictions
Collin Gay, Tuscaloosa News: Georgia 27, Alabama 24
“DeBoer’s first matchup with Georgia is a lot like Nick Saban’s first game against the Bulldogs in 2007, when turnovers can mean life and death, even in the face of a defense that bends and doesn’t break. , Beck and Georgia won’t lose.” The Crimson Tide will have plenty of mistakes to exploit, and Milroe and the offense will have their day under the lights, but they won’t be able to give Alabama its first SEC win in 2024. would not be enough. โ
Brad Crawford, 247 Sports: Alabama 30, Georgia 29
This game will be important for both teams in the SEC Championship race, but it won’t be too much of a downer for the loser. We’re looking at two teams that should be in the College Football Playoff anyway. Georgia’s 42-game regular season winning streak will be in jeopardy with the remaining games as this is the first of three road games against top-10 teams. I believe Kirby Smart will come up with a plan to limit Jalen Milroe defensively this time around, but I’m a little concerned about the Bulldogs’ lack of explosiveness around Carson Beck on offense thus far. . Karen DeBoer won a signature win in September.
Mark Weiser, Athens Banner-Herald: Alabama 24, Georgia 23
“This game is essentially a toss-up. Georgia has the better defense, but the nod should go to the Crimson Tide with home-field advantage and two of the most dynamic offensive players on the field.”
