Global Entry is an initiative to expedite entry into the U.S. ports of entry. The program provides faster arrival processing and increased security for travelers to the United States.
As a pre-screened Global Entry participant, travelers can check in immediately at Global Entry kiosks at U.S. Customs and Border Protection pre-screening facilities or upon arrival at another U.S. port of entry, eliminating the need to wait in long lines or go through additional paperwork.
Global Entry participants must have a valid U.S. visa to enter the United States.
As part of the launch of this collaboration process, UAE and US government officials will begin developing and finalizing criteria for the UAE’s full participation in the Global Entry program.
The two governments signed the agreement between the UAE Ministry of Interior and the US Department of Homeland Security, which took place during UAE President Sheikh Mohammed’s official visit to the US.
“This agreement marks another step forward in our shared efforts to strengthen bilateral security and facilitate commerce and travel between our countries,” said Yousef Al Otaiba, the UAE’s ambassador to the United States.
“Once the UAE and the US finalize their discussions, UAE nationals who apply and are approved for the Global Entry program will be able to enter the US using the Global Entry system at 75 airports in the US and other countries,” he added.
