EXCLUSIVE: Director Sophia Banks and producer Damiano Tucci have launched Getaway Entertainment, a new production company dedicated to great storytelling across all media. Getaway’s slate already includes a robust slate of projects including Cary Joji Fukunaga’s Blood on Snow starring Tom Hardy and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Paul Schrader’s O Canada starring Richard Gere, Uma Thurman, Jacob Elordi and Michael Imperioli, Julian Schnabel’s Hand of Dante with an all-star cast that includes Gal Gadot, Oscar Isaac, Gerard Butler, Jason Momoa and Al Pacino, and The Luckiest Man in America starring Paul Walter Hauser, Walton Goggins, Maisie Williams, David Strathairn and Johnny Knoxville.

Banks has directed over 200 spots for brands such as Airbnb, BMW, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, and Nestle. She has been selected by Baz Luhrmann and Vogue magazine as one of the top emerging directors. Banks’ sci-fi debut short film, “Unregistered,” starring Dylan Penn and Trevor Jackson, premiered at the TriBeCa Film Festival and has since screened at numerous film festivals around the world.
In addition to projects with Anonymous Content and Appian Way, Banks made his feature directorial debut with Thunder Road’s The Black Site starring Michelle Monaghan and Jason Clarke. Banks is also set to direct an upcoming sci-fi film with Scott Free Productions, as well as the upcoming thriller The Dane Conspiracy, produced by Bill Mechanic, Rick Nichita and Tucci.
Tucci has served as executive producer on a number of films, including Rob Reiner’s LBJ starring Woody Harrelson, Richard Jenkins and Bill Pullman, Mark Pellington’s The Last Word starring Shirley MacLaine and Amanda Seyfried, Lea Thompson’s The Year of Spectacular Men starring Zoey Deutch, Madeline Deutch, Nicholas Braun and Jesse Bradford, and Rob Cohen’s HURRICANE HEIST starring Maggie Grace, Ryan Kwanten and Toby Kebbell.
