The Denver Broncos find success in Week 3 thanks to contributions from players high and low on the roster.
It’s still early in the season, so it’s not unexpected to see big moves up and down the CBS Sports NFL Power Rankings, and the Broncos were one of several teams to see big increases in the rankings going into Week 4.
Coach Sean Payton’s Denver team rose eight spots to 22nd after their Week 3 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“Sean Payton dominated the Buccaneers under coach Todd Bowles. It was a showcase game,” wrote Power Rankings author Pete Prisco.

Strong defensive play was one of the keys to Denver’s 26-7 victory. Prisco also noted that Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix showed signs of improvement in the win, completing 25 of 36 passes for 215 yards and a rushing touchdown.
The Broncos fall to 1-2 on the season and will host the 2-1 New York Jets on Sunday.
The undefeated Kansas City Chiefs are ranked No. 1.
