The Bears recorded improvements in team GPA, total number of award recipients and number of Academic All-America First Team recipients.
UC surpasses 2023 scoring total as 10 players named to All-Academic First Team
The 2024 Cal men’s gymnastics team had 14 athletes named to the Collegiate Gymnastics Association (CGA) Academic All-America list on Tuesday, one more than the previous year’s total. As a team, the Golden Bears posted an average GPA of 3.28, also an improvement from the 2023 season.
Then-seniors Noah Neufeld and Chris Scales earned CGA Academic All-America honors all four years of their collegiate careers, while graduates Yu-Chen Lee and Noah Sano earned the honor for the fifth and fourth time, respectively. All four were named to the Academic All-America First Team, along with six teammates who all earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher, while the Second Team recipients finished the year with GPAs ranging from 3.2 to 3.499.
