Alcaraz, a two-time Wimbledon champion, continued speaking on Centre Court, and when asked if he would watch the upcoming European Championship final between England and Spain, he added: “I will definitely watch it with the team. I don’t know where I’ll watch it, but I will definitely watch it. I’ve done my job, let’s watch some football! It’s going to be a really difficult game.”
Alcaraz has a human moment when Croft asks him about his dancing skills ahead of the traditional Champions Dance with women’s winner Barbora Krejcikova. He seems a little nervous and embarrassed, and is reminded that he is only 21. “We’ll see how it goes tonight… I could do better, but I’ll do my best!”
“I’m so nervous giving this speech that I forgot to say something to Novak and his team. It’s been a really difficult few weeks for you guys. You’ve worked incredibly hard after your surgeries after the French Open.”
“You made it to the final and ran really well. I have so much respect for you and your team. Keep it up and keep up the great work. And of course, thanks to my team, my family and everyone who has been supporting me. It’s been an amazing four weeks.”
“The support from you all, every day, every week, at home, traveling all over the world, far from family. You are all incredible and I am still learning from you. Thank you so much and I wish I had more time like this.”
