Usher responds to Twitter controversy following Diddy’s arrest
Usher’s X account was temporarily deleted shortly after his mentor, Sean “Diddy” Combs, was arrested on federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges on Monday.
“My account got hacked but y’all took advantage and did it! See you tonight at the Intuit Dome,” the eight-time Grammy winner said in a post on Sunday.
In response, the Daily Mail reported that several users responded to the Dallas man on the thread, saying the timing seemed too coincidental.
Additionally, one user tweeted: “You really think we’re stupid don’t you,” while another commented: “What?? Lol the timing is just coincidence right?”
And a third user replied to the Yeah! singer, “Of course. Was your account really hacked or did you just say something?”
In this regard, one of the users stated that the deletion of the account could be a sign of trouble for the star’s future following the arrest of his musical mentor.
Additionally, the outlet reported that Usher was not directly accused of any criminal wrongdoing in the lawsuit against Combs.
The lawsuit, filed by Dawn Richard, accuses the Love in This Club singer of being with Ne-Yo while Combs was physically abusing his ex-girlfriend, Cassandra “Cathy” Ventura.
