“I’ve never seen anything that big in my life,” Rosher, who has been lobster diving for about 15 years, told InsideEdition.com.
“I don’t think I’ll ever see anything this big again in my life.”
Based on its size, Rosher said he estimated the lobster was between 30 and 40 years old.

He took a few photos before considering whether to donate the crustacean to a local aquarium.
However, he was out fishing at night and the aquarium was closed, so his calls were not answered.
“We’d never seen anything of that size before so we decided it would be best to return it to its original home.”
The fisherman returned the lobster to the water and swam with it for nearly 30 minutes before watching it regain its strength and take off.

In response to a question on Facebook about why Mr Lescher had released the lobster, he said he had not intended to keep it for food because of its size.
Some commenters speculated that the meat was tough, old and nearly inedible.
