The airline apologised for the confusion and said its teams were “doing their best” to help passengers.
Etihad Airways advised passengers to ensure their contact details are up to date to ensure they receive the latest flight information. Passengers can visit the official website to find contact details.
If you have any questions, you can contact the airline via phone, social media, or live chat. Bird strikes are not isolated phenomena and happen more often than flyers think. Bird strikes usually occur during the day at low altitudes, as birds are more abundant and at lower altitudes during the day.
Earlier this month, an Etihad Airways flight from Colombo to Abu Dhabi was forced to return to its destination in Sri Lanka after being struck by a bird.
The airline earlier confirmed to Khaleej Times that after inspection, the plane took off from Colombo with all passengers on board and landed in Abu Dhabi after a delay of about five hours.
On May 20, an Emirates plane flying from Dubai to Mumbai crashed into a flock of flamingos about 300 metres (1,000 feet) above the ground.
Indian media reports said at least 36 flamingos were killed in the incident, but wildlife experts fear many more may have died.
All passengers and crew were safe, but the aircraft was damaged and the return flight scheduled to depart to Dubai the same day was cancelled.
