Nigerian music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that he has keen interest in the ongoing #EdoDecides2024, citing his maternal ties to the state as the main reason.
The award-winning singer, who tweeted on Saturday from his verified X account, explained that he was particularly concerned about the electoral process because his mother is from Edo.
He, however, stressed that given the national importance of the election, all Nigerians should be equally interested in it.
Davido also criticised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for poorly conducting the election.
Recounting his experience during the 2022 Osun State gubernatorial election, he said it took various efforts, including public protests, before the situation improved.

This comes hours after the ‘Unavailable’ singer had earlier opposed a suggestion by Deputy Inspector General of Police, Frank Mba, that voters should immediately return home after casting their vote in the ongoing elections.
