A Canadian woman has been arrested after she was caught on doorbell video pretending to be interested in a Porsche, stealing the car, then running over the owner’s driveway while making her getaway, police said.
According to Peel Regional Police, Sarah Badshaw, 18, was arrested on multiple charges including dangerous driving resulting in injury to a person, motor vehicle theft, unlawful presence after an accident resulting in injury to a person and driving without a licence. She turned herself in on Thursday as police search for a suspect in the incident.
The incident happened around 2pm on September 6th near Winston Churchill Road and Eglinton Street in Mississauga.
Police said video footage showed a woman ringing the doorbell of the victim’s home and saying she was interested in purchasing a 2022 Porsche Cayenne that was listed on Autotrader.

According to police, Badshaw remained in the vehicle to check the interior, then quickly backed up and out of the victim’s driveway, striking the victim in the process, before fleeing in the stolen vehicle.
The video shows the victim exiting through the passenger side door, walking around the front of the vehicle and reaching for the driver’s side steering wheel, which appears to be locked.

As the victim attempted to enter the locked vehicle and walked towards the rear of the vehicle, the vehicle appeared to bounce slightly, after which the suspect quickly pulled out of the roadway, striking the victim and violently dragging him across the roadway.
Police said a man was injured in the incident, telling CTV News Toronto he suffered injuries to his elbow, hand and leg and required medical treatment.

Police say an accomplice who drove across the street from the victim’s home in a grey Bentley Bentayga was also involved in the theft.
The stolen Porsche was found abandoned in Mississauga on Wednesday.
Police said Budshaw has previous charges of fraud-related offences in Peel Region and is also wanted by other police agencies in the GTA in connection with separate investigations.
