A two-day meeting between representatives of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC and the UAE delegation kicked off in Baku on September 19. The aim of the meeting is to exchange knowledge on the hosting of COP28 in Dubai and strengthen cooperation in civil aviation, News.Az reports.
The exchange of views is particularly timely as Baku prepares to host the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by senior management of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC, while the UAE delegation included officials from the UAE Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Dubai Airports, executives from Jetex, a company specializing in business aviation and VIP services, and representatives from Dubai Air Navigation Services (DANS), among others.
The meeting will mark an important step in strengthening cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UAE in the fields of sustainable development and climate change. Discussions will focus on the UAE’s expertise in organizing global events, which will help Baku prepare for COP29.
The cooperation between aviation industry representatives from Azerbaijan and the UAE aims to promote the exchange of innovative solutions and best practices. Discussions cover a range of topics, including logistics, flight safety, air traffic management and improving passenger comfort. In addition, the integration of digital technologies and increasing the efficiency of airport management are at the center of the agenda.
