The 33-year-old actor has been exchanging text messages with his boss as he prepares to play him in the upcoming biopic “Deliver Me From Nowhere.”
Jeremy Allen White’s YouTube watch history is full of Bruce Springsteen videos. The 33-year-old actor is gathering intel on the music legend for his role as the Boss in the upcoming biopic, “Deliver Me From Nowhere.” While some of it comes directly from the musician himself, White is leaving no stone unturned to prepare for the role.
“There’s so much footage,” White recently told GQ magazine. “It’s really amazing to be able to explore different periods of his life on YouTube and hear him speak and sing. That was my goal, to hear and see a lot of him. It was really fun to prepare.”
Getting the voice right is essential for the actor to achieve one of the film’s most ambitious goals: White himself singing the Springsteen classic. “I’m really lucky to have the kind of team that I have now that’s dedicated to helping young actors play rock stars,” he added. “I have some really talented people that are helping me with my vocal and musical training to prepare for this.”
Deliver Me From Nowhere is based on the 2023 book of the same name by Warren Zanes. Springsteen and his manager Jon Landau are producing the film, which will focus on the making of Springsteen’s classic 1982 album, Nebraska. Scott Cooper will both write and direct.

White said he has exchanged text messages with the musician on multiple occasions and that he is “really supportive of the film,” adding, “I’ve been in contact with him a few times and he’s just a great guy.”
The two also found common ground — not on set or in the studio, but in the closet. “Bruce Springsteen is a guy, in the best way possible. He’s a guy who likes jeans and T-shirts,” says White, who sports a denim look in Calvin Klein’s latest campaign. “I was excited going into this job to find that we had at least that commonality.”
