MANILA, Philippines – OPM icon Ellie Buendia will release his solo album, “Method Adaptor,” on November 8. It is his second release, following his 2000 solo debut, “Wanted: Bedspacer.”
Over this span of almost 24 years, the artist has moved between different creative spaces, from his superstar years with the Eraserheads in the ’90s to his first solo endeavors in the quiet confines of his own apartment. During the same period, Buendía has explored a range of sounds, from modern rock to RnB to jazz, with groups such as Pupil, The Octavus and Apartelle, and has also collaborated with artists such as Francis M, The Itchyworms and The Cheats.
But earlier this year, Buendia decided to make another full solo album, saying the endeavor would be an exercise in self-reflection as an artist.
A glimpse of this can be seen in the album’s first single, “Bulaklak Sa Buwan,” in which Buendia touches on the topic of propaganda and disinformation through the metaphor of the mythical “bulaklak sa buwan.”
