Colorado vs. North Dakota State Predictions | Deion, Shedell Sanders take on historic powerhouse North Dakota State | 08.26.24
As the debate over who should be on the U.S. flag football team for the 2028 Summer Olympics has raged in recent weeks, at least one candidate is now left out: Colorado State quarterback Shedul Sanders.
Sanders, who would likely be playing on his rookie contract in the NFL at the time, dismissed the idea of competing in the Olympics during a recent episode of his podcast, “2Legendary.” When asked if he wanted to play, Sanders simply replied, “No.”

He cited injury risk as the reason for not taking part and went into a bit more detail.
“Because you could get hurt,” Sanders said.

Sanders also dismissed the possibility of winning a gold medal, as for him, the potential glory of winning for his country doesn’t seem to outweigh the need to protect himself from the physical demands of full-contact football.
“I don’t like that. And you just finished a full season,” Sanders said.
Flag football is set to become an official Olympic sport at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, marking the first time American football will feature at the Olympics.
Team USA’s current flag quarterback wasn’t afraid to call out Patrick Mahomes
Patrick Mahomes had no choice but to respond after hearing what Darrell Doucette said about him. The quarterback for the US flag football team told TMZ Sports that he’s better than the three-time Super Bowl champion. In X, Mahomes shared the interview, adding a member of 50 Cent, saying, “Why the hell does he fuck with me?”
Doucette was talking about the possibility of NFL players taking part in flag football at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, and while Mahomes has expressed a desire to be a part of the team, Doucette seems to have something to say about it.
“At the end of the day, I feel like in terms of my game IQ, I’m better than Patrick Mahomes,” Doucette said in an interview with TMZ Sports. “I know he’s the best in the league right now. I know he’s more accurate. I know he has all the intangibles. But when it comes to flag football, I feel like I know more than him.”
