At the very top of that tier are two Indian channels that are by far the leaders, both of which have been ranked in the top 50 globally so far this year.
Top 5
🥇 Anaya Kandhal garnered the most weekly views of any YouTube channel. Unprecedented viewership is becoming the norm for this Indian family channel, which has upped the ante by hitting number one multiple times in the summer of 2024. After garnering 761.5 million weekly views, young Anaya and her family have achieved a major milestone of crossing 40 million subscribers on the main YouTube hub. There are two lessons in this story: there are plenty of kids on the Indian version of YouTube, and family content translates easily across cultural boundaries.
🥈 T-Series came closest to matching Anaya Kandhar’s weekly traffic, but the Indian record label ended up as runner-up once again, as is normal for the one-time chart-topper who finished second in multiple categories this year. Anaya Kandhar continues to outperform T-Series on the global charts, and MrBeast now surpasses T-Series in the YouTube subscriber rankings. However, T-Series still has the most weekly views of 730.1 million and the most lifetime views of any YouTube channel (263.8 billion).
🥉 KIMPRO sits at number 3 in the latest Global Top 50. After hitting number 1 last week, KIMPRO followed up its chart-topping performance with a similar weekly total. However, this week’s 696.6 million weekly views weren’t enough to catch up with the Indian channels in first and second place. KIMPRO follows Anaya Kandhal in breaking through a subscriber milestone. Now one of South Korea’s most trusted sources of short memes and skits, the YouTube account has over 50 million subscribers.
🌟 Toys and Colors comes in at #4, making it the highest-ranked US-based channel in the Global Top 50. Like most other channels in the Global Top 10, Toys and Colors is a kids’ channel that drives views with a mix of long-form educational entertainment and short, short-form videos. This combination helped it generate over 600 million views, 150 million ahead of the #5 channel. Toys and Colors finished August strong with 645 million views in the final 7 days.
✨ Alan Chicken Chow ranked #5 in the Global Top 50 for the second consecutive week. The short-form comedy creator reached 495.9 million weekly views, making him the second most-watched individual creator after Anaya Kandal.

Move past Thomas the Tank Engine to discover another anthropomorphic vehicle taking Southeast Asia’s children’s entertainment world by storm. The South Korean-made “Tayo the Little Bus” has remained consistently popular in its home country, but it’s also becoming a huge hit in another country: Indonesia.
Tayo became so popular in his home country that an actual bus was named after him. As the show became popular, it was translated into 11 languages, including Indonesian, and thus the Tayo Bus Kecil YouTube channel was born, becoming the first channel to rank in the global top 50. Tayo’s Indonesian following features short snippets of the show, but like many family-friendly channels, his audience grew with a single video that has garnered over 1 billion views.
But there’s more to Tayo’s Indonesia channel than meets the eye. The show’s theme song has become a popular meme in the world’s fourth-most populous country, and Tayo was once one of the most Googled topics in Indonesia. Due to its viral nature, the bus cruise garnered 228.2 million views in the last week of August, a total that represented a 5 percent increase from the previous week and helped Tayo rise from 57th to 48th in the global rankings.
Other talking vehicles will need more views on YouTube Shorts before they can catch up to Tayo’s fast pace. For more information on this popular Korean show, check out our main YouTube hub.
