Winger Manar Solomon remains a Tottenham Hotspur player for now, but his future could change soon. With the transfer window drawing to a close, the Israeli is attracting strong interest from multiple clubs and a loan move away from north London looks increasingly likely.
Initial reports had suggested Solomon was set to spend the season on loan at Leeds United – Spurs source Paul O’Keeffe even suggested a medical had already been completed – but recent developments have cast doubt on the move, with reporter Shay Lugacci saying disagreements over payment terms could derail the move.
Now, football.london are reporting that Ajax have emerged as a potential suitor for the 25-year-old winger, with the club reportedly waiting to see how things go at Leeds before making a definitive move for Salomon. Marseille have previously shown an interest, but it remains to be seen whether they will rejoin the race.
Solomon joined Tottenham on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk last summer and he has made a strong start to his Tottenham career, providing two assists in his first five games.
Unfortunately, his season was curtailed due to a meniscus injury in early October and he has not featured for Tottenham since.
With new signings such as Wilson Odbert, Timo Werner’s loan extension and the emergence of Mikey Moore, Solomon has likely fallen down the pecking order at Spurs, and given these changes the club may be keen to offload him to make room in the squad.
It will be crucial for Tottenham to get a deal done, whether it’s Leeds, Ajax or another club who signs him, and it no longer seems realistic to keep Salomon in the team, even if on loan. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.
Meanwhile, Tottenham’s management appear to be making some last-minute moves with the transfer window nearing the end, and we should hear more in the coming days.
