Men’s Soccer
– Cleveland State will continue its 2024 campaign by hosting Chicago State on Friday, Aug. 30, before traveling to Akron on Monday, Sept. 2.
-The Vikings started the year with a 1-1 tie with Ohio State before winning their home opener against St. Bonaventure University, 1-0.
-Tom Mertz scored his first collegiate goal against the Buckeyes, and Steven Yerian recorded his first collegiate shutout against St. Bonaventure.
Women’s Soccer
-The Vikings are scheduled for a two-game road trip this week, against Niagara on Thursday, Aug. 29th and St. Francis on Sunday, Sept. 1st.
-Last time, Cleveland State hosted Saint Joseph’s University in the first of seven home games during the 2024 season.
volleyball
– Cleveland State opens its 2024 campaign this weekend at the UNC Tournament, facing the host Tar Heels (Aug. 30), Western Carolina (Aug. 31) and College of Charleston (Sept. 1).
-The Vikings will begin a 29-game schedule and will compete in the first of three preseason tournaments.
cross country
-The Vikings will open the 2024 season on Friday night when they play in the Tommy Evans Invitational hosted by Akron.
– This is the first of six events for Cleveland State this year, as well as the first of five Friday night races.

Yerian helped the Vikings to a 1-0-1 start in the opening week, recording 12 saves in two games, including his first collegiate shutout against St. Bonaventure.
