Can you think of an athlete who started a YouTube channel and completely changed the face of websites? Maybe not? Cristiano Ronaldo has done just that. With over 45.5 million subscribers, Ronaldo is well on his way to challenging MrBeast as the most-subscribed person on YouTube. But this leap into content creation begs the question: was it too early?
ESPN soccer analyst Julian Laurence joined Gab Marcotti to express his concerns about his YouTube channel “UR Cristiano”. Usually, athletes have a stellar career and then immediately look for ways to make a sustainable income after retirement. Some athletes have different lifestyle-focused content shows, travel blogs, etc. and monetize the views they get from that particular content. The ESPN analyst thinks it will be interesting to see what kind of content Ronaldo will provide his fans. It will not be an easy task to challenge Mr. Beast in terms of YouTube subscriber numbers. This is an interesting development in Ronaldo’s life. However, Gab Marcotti thinks Ronaldo should focus on his soccer career first.
In a brief comment, Marcotti said, “I’d like to see where he goes with this. I just want to see him keep playing. Keep playing as long as you can, because for now you’re the better footballer.” Like all football fans, the time is approaching when legends like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will retire. They have dominated the world of football for many years and will continue to dominate in some form or another. Therefore, Marcotti believes that Ronaldo should refocus his goals on YouTube after retirement.

“When I retire, I might be more famous than Mr. Beast,” Marcotti said. As most of us know, Mr. Beast holds the title of absolute king of YouTube with 312 million subscribers. But Ronaldo has already gained 45.5 million subscribers in four days. Just four days!
He achieved the prestigious Silver Creator, Golden Creator, and Diamond Creator titles in a matter of hours. Considering MrBeast posted a video of him smashing a Lamborghini with the biggest shredder around, it will probably take some time for Ronaldo to think outside the box. But we’re with Marcotti: we’d love to see Ronaldo play soccer before he retires.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nasr draw!
Al Nasr faced Al Raed in the opening match of the Saudi Pro League, which ended in a 1-1 draw. The Portuguese international scored a goal in the 34th minute to put his team ahead, but Mohamed Khuzer equalized in the 49th minute to earn the game a draw. Ronaldo, who won one Arab Club Champions Cup during his time in Saudi Arabia, still has unfinished business in the Saudi Pro League.

For some, this raises the question of whether he will finally put an end to his career as a footballer. Are these cryptic clues pointing to the calm before the storm? Will Ronaldo retire to focus on something other than football? Let us know in the comments below.
