Some of you may have noticed that Jenna Ortega deleted her Twitter/X account long before Wednesday began, and she had an “unpleasant” reason for doing so.
The Wednesday star is one of Hollywood’s top stars who only occasionally uses social media, and while she can be spotted on Instagram from time to time (most recently promoting her appearance in Sabrina Carpenter’s “Taste” music video), she hasn’t been on X or Twitter in years.
It was only in 2022 that it emerged that she had deleted her account, but the reason for this was previously unknown.

Ortega explained to The New York Times that the “unpleasant” use of AI meant he never wanted to return to the platform.
“I hate AI. AI could be used for amazing things. I think I saw the other day that artificial intelligence can detect breast cancer four years before it progresses. That’s amazing. Let’s leave it at that,” she said.

Ortega also said that an “influx of absurd images and photos” led to the account being deleted before 2022.

While AI and deepfakes remain major issues on social networking sites, many of Ortega’s fans have spoken out against what happened to her.

“Why is generative AI still legal?” one person commented, while another added, “There are more and more reasons why AI needs to be banned.”
“I completely agree with her, there’s no excuse,” a third person opined.
A fourth fan summed up: “I don’t blame her, it’s a barbaric place and they allow it.”
Twitter isn’t the only issue Ortega has had in her career: She reportedly left the production of horror film “Scream 7” after co-star Melissa Barrera was fired, and she was also criticized for the “horrible” age difference in the controversial film “Miller’s Girl.”
