Google-owned YouTube has announced new artificial intelligence (AI) tools to help users recover their hacked accounts. The company has added a new AI chatbot to help affected users re-secure their logins and recover their accounts as a first step after being hacked.
“We’re happy to announce that YouTube is launching a new troubleshooting tool to help users who believe their account has been hacked,” the company said on a Google support page.

The AI chatbot can be accessed through the YouTube Help Center. Currently, the chatbot assistant is only available in English, and certain troubleshooting features within the tool are only available to certain creators. Google said it is working to make the feature available to all users.
Google’s support page also states that if the tool doesn’t work, you can contact X’s @TeamYouTube for help.
Previously, to recover a hacked YouTube channel, you first had to recover the hacked Google account associated with that YouTube channel. With a new AI tool, Google has streamlined this process.
According to Google, Google accounts can be hacked, hijacked, or compromised for a variety of reasons. These reasons include harmful content (malware) and fraudulent emails that pretend to be from familiar types of services (phishing). To keep their accounts safe, users are advised not to share their email address and password information with others. The page states, “Do not download files or software from untrusted sources.”
