Raheem Sterling is on the hunt for a new club after being dropped from Chelsea’s ongoing project.
The attacking player had caught Arsenal’s eye during his several seasons at Manchester City.
There were reports that Sterling could join Mikel Arteta at the Emirates Stadium but when he ultimately left City, Arsenal were not interested in signing him, leading to him moving to Chelsea instead.
Now, under new manager Enzo Maresca, Sterling is no longer in their plans and has been advised to find a new club.
Sterling may attract interest from other top clubs during the transfer window, but a move to Arsenal does not appear to be in Arteta’s plans.
When asked if he had ever considered signing Sterling, Arteta said, according to the Daily Mail:
“No, but I can tell you about my time with Raheem.”
“It was great, we built a really strong relationship together.
“When we were together he was incredible and taught me so much.
“It’s about the individual, how they play and how we support and help them. I have really strong feelings about him.”
Just Arsenal Opinion
Sterling is past his prime and if he can’t play for Chelsea now it would be foolish to think he could play for Arsenal.
