“This successful mediation, the seventh since the beginning of the year, is the result of the UAE leveraging its strong ties and cooperation with both sides,” the foreign ministry said.
Furthermore, the ministry reaffirmed the UAE’s determination to continue all efforts and efforts towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict, and stressed the importance of dialogue and de-escalation as the only way to resolve the conflict and mitigate its humanitarian impact.
Notably, since the beginning of the year, the UAE’s mediation efforts have led to the completion of an exchange of prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the successful exchange of two prisoners between the United States and the Russian Federation in December 2022.
