For parents looking for a quality device for their child’s learning, there are some great products on the market.
Abdul Rahman, from Giant Used Computer Sales, said demand was on the rise as parents prepare for the new school year: “A lot of parents are buying laptops from us for their children’s school.”
“We provide all kinds of laptops and tablets suitable for students and professionals alike. We have even had parents who bought laptops from us last year sell the devices back to us and pay a little extra to buy new ones,” Abdul Rahman said.
“These laptops are in very good condition because they have not been used much,” he said. “We got them in perfect condition and they don’t need any refurbishing or repairs.”
Where do gadgets like this come from?
Saleem Kotammal, owner of Unique Used Computers, explained the source of these affordable gadgets: “We source these laptops from Europe and the US. In the West, laptops are often only used for a year and then replaced with newer models. These gadgets are then exported to other countries.”
Typically, we receive devices in brand new condition and sell the same used laptops for 50-70 percent less than the original price. For example, a brand new Lenovo Thinkpad E16 sells for 3,200 dirhams in our outlets. But here you can find one that’s only three months old for just 900 dirhams.”
