Max Pacioletti missed most of the past two seasons due to injury, but he appeared in 47 games for the Washington Capitals in 2023-24. Now a veteran free agent, Pacioletti is excited about his future in the NHL.
According to Frank Seravalli of the Daily Faceoff, Pacioletti has offers from at least three teams, and while he’s arguably past his prime – turning 36 in November – many teams would be interested in acquiring him as a veteran.
UFA Update: #Oilers Some teams are focusing on acquiring right-handed defensemen, such as Justin Schultz, Tyson Barrie and Kevin Shattenkirk.
Additionally, Max Pacioretty has received formal offers from at least three teams, with the veteran forward expected to make a decision soon.

Seravalli didn’t name any specific teams, but a decision should be made in the near future, and there are certainly a number of teams interested in acquiring Pacioletti if the right deal is made.
Pacioletti has been one of the NHL’s best leaders both on and off the ice since his debut in 2009.
Pacioletti spent 10 years with the Montreal Canadiens, including three seasons as captain. From the 2008-09 season through the 2017-18 season, Pacioletti played 626 games for the Canadiens.
Pacioletti recorded 226 goals and 222 assists for 448 points during his time with the Canadiens.
In the six seasons since leaving Montreal, Pacioletti has played for the Vegas Golden Knights, Carolina Hurricanes and Capitals.
Pacioletti missed most of the 2022-23 season with the Hurricanes due to an Achilles injury, appearing in just five games that year and scoring three goals.
During his brief tenure with the Capitals, Pacioletti proved he can still be a useful player at the NHL level, and at least three teams believe he could add some excitement to their lineups, even as a reserve.
Pacioletti joined the Capitals on a one-year contract ahead of the 2023-24 season. His contract was worth $2 million against the salary cap. His new deal will likely be worth less than that amount.
Pacioletti has 330 goals and 338 assists for 668 points in 902 career games.
