Sarah Laverty once again urged her followers to be wary of false information they come across online, particularly information claiming that she owns an X (formerly Twitter) account.
The actress did not specify which fake news she was referring to, but instead warned people on her social media pages, “Hey guys, I’m not on Twitter. I say again, beware of fake news.”
In the past, Laverty has been a victim of counterfeit art cards on social media that purportedly contain content about her private life.
In 2023, the “Starstruck” alum denounced as fake news an art card that allegedly badmouthed her mother-in-law, Anabel Llamas, following her split from her estranged husband, actor Richard Gutierrez.
“I just want to be clear about one thing and this will (hopefully) be the last time I have to do this: Beware of fake news. I never said that,” Laverty wrote at the time.
The art card read, “I feel like I was brainwashed and it has changed me. I feel like my mother-in-law was not treated very well by my husband and I can’t stand it. My advice to anyone considering marriage is to get to know your future parents-in-law well so you don’t end up like me.”
In March, Laverty publicly confirmed that she and Gutierrez had split after four years of marriage. She said at the time that they had not yet filed for an annulment. The former celebrity couple now co-parent their two sons, Zion and Kai.
Meanwhile, Gutierrez is rumored to be dating actress Barbie Imperial after a series of public appearances. Recently, Gutierrez attended the actress’ 26th birthday with his mother.
