Many young athletes grow up dreaming of going professional, but the road to the top of their sport is full of challenges.
One of the most difficult obstacles for young athletes to overcome is also one of the most common: injury.
Wake Forest University freshman baseball player Luke Costello suffered a torn ACL while attending Cathedral Prep High School in Erie, Pennsylvania. He and his family traveled to University Hospital in Ohio to receive expert care and treatment.
“I knew he was the team physician for the Browns, he operated on Nick Chubb, he’s a knee specialist with a great track record,” Costello told WKYC.
Now, Luke has traveled south to Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he is said to be “nearly 100 percent recovered,” and UH physical therapists have already shared a rehabilitation and training plan with WFU athletic trainers to help Costello return from ACL surgery.
