Gabby Barrett may only be 24, but she has the makings of a country music star.
The Pittsburgh-born singer, who rose to fame after appearing on “American Idol” in 2018, will make her Mahoning Valley debut tonight at Packard Music Hall in Warren, headlining a concert starting at 8 p.m.
Barrett released his second studio album, Chapter & Verse, in February, followed by a live EP, The Live Sessions, in July.
Tickets range in price from $89 to $39 and can be purchased at the box office.
The Canfield Fair is fast approaching (opening Wednesday, August 28th) and this weekend marks the penultimate weekend of summer.
The high school football season begins tonight, with Youngstown State University opening its season at Villanova University on August 29. In preparation, the YSU Pride Marching Band will preview their halftime show at Stambaugh Stadium on Friday at 3 p.m. Admission is free.
And on Saturday, Penguin Collective will host Rock the Lot at Penguin City Brewing downtown, a tailgate-style party. Doors open at 5 p.m. Admission is $10, and the event will include food trucks and live music by Ohayo, Larry Elefante and No Funk No Justice.
The biggest event of the weekend is Youngstown Playhouse’s “Beautiful: The Carole King Story,” which runs Friday through Sunday at Powers Auditorium. More information here.
