A rebel group in western Myanmar has said it has captured a strategic town near the Indian border from the ruling military.
The town of Paletwa in Chin state is one of Myanmar’s main routes to India.
The Arakan Army is part of the ethnic minority rebel coalition, the Three Brotherhood Alliance, that launched coordinated attacks against Myanmar’s military government last October.
The rebel offensive has posed the biggest challenge to Myanmar’s military government since it seized power in a coup in 2021.

What’s the point of us in UK when we send journalists in disputes in other peoples countries and interview the opposition and call them freedom fighters it seems that our journalists take upon on themselves to inform us about Myanmar and Rohingyas what is ordinary Brit can do? we have immigrants whom we cannot give shelter in UK like the Afghans whose country we got involved and look what problems we have created at home? Our population is willing to welcome Ukrainians but not Afghans .
Why do we hear about the war in the Ukraine and Gaza but rarely hear about the war in Myanmar.
Good Luck, People..

Arakan will be Independent Federal Republic as soon as possible from Burma
Western Bank of Irrawaddy river will be a separate independent Republic from Burma. Irrawaddy river is the natural boundary between Burma and Arakan.
Hi
I've visited Myanmar which is an absolutely beautiful country. Myanmar people are honest, friendly and helpful.
I hope Myanmar manages to sort things out. Peace and prosperity to all Myanmar people! 🙏🙏🙏
Free The Union of Democratic States of Greater Arakan
This is rebel army that doesn't want a federal system in Myanmar, but independence for Arakan or Rakhine State.
Correction for you: The junta forces are not the Myanmar military, they are the junta forces. They used to be the Myanmar military, but ceased to be that when they decided to do their coup. The Myanmar government is now building a new military (which includes alot of ethnic forces) to take back the country. Please stop legitamizing the junta forces as the Myanmar government.
Isn't Manipur part of India save Manipur.
Democratic governments should have stepped into to help the people two years ago, same in Iran… when a majority of citizens want a democracy and it is being taken or destroyed by violent zealots and power hungry military leaders, wannabe dictators…we have to step in and offer assistance. We shouldn't have stepped into Afghanistan when we did because we weren't wanted, but if a good rebellion is restarted there we should offer weapons and aid. Iran could have been a democracy since 1979 if we didn't sit on our rear ends and watch.
Concerning as an Indian… hope this conflict does not spill over
India should support the rebellion to restore democracy in Myanmar against autocratic military regime . लातोका भूत बातो से नही मानता
