The Bo Nix era has officially arrived!
Earlier this afternoon, Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton met with the media for the first time since Sunday’s 27-2 win over the Green Bay Packers and made a big announcement: He told reporters that rookie quarterback Bo Nix has been named the starting quarterback.
To be honest, this was expected since the team selected him with the 12th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, but the rookie deserves it. He showed growth and improvement throughout camp, carried it over to the preseason opener against the Colts, the joint practice with the Packers and capped it off with another impressive performance last Sunday. Payton has been hooked since drafting the Knicks and seems energized and excited to get to work with the young quarterback.
Nicks will be the Broncos’ starting quarterback when he takes on the Seahawks in Seattle in Week 1. Like any rookie quarterback, there will be growing pains, but so far, Nicks has shown he has “it.”
It’s an exciting time for Broncos fans, as we’ve been waiting for an answer at quarterback since Peyton Manning retired after winning Super Bowl 50. This announcement has generated excitement among Broncos fans, so let’s take a look at Twitter’s reactions to the Broncos naming rookie quarterback Bo Nix their starting quarterback.

Bo Nix impressed head coach Sean Payton with his skill and work ethic, and his performance on the field earned him a starting spot.
As for John Elway, Steve DeBerg replaced Dan Reeves as manager during his rookie season, and while he was a tremendous talent, he was clearly underwhelmed. … https://t.co/WErMG9A5DS

Bo Nix will undoubtedly have a better debut than John Elway, the team’s last rookie QB to serve as a Week 1 starter.
Elway was 1-of-8 for 14 yards, one interception and four sacks on the road against Pittsburgh in 1983.
It was ok for number 7 though.

Broncos coach Sean Payton officially announced that Bo Nix will be Denver’s starting quarterback. The 12th overall pick led seven drives in the preseason, with the Broncos scoring on six of them.
Nicks also played 61 games in college, so he’s always ready to go.
