NEW DELHI: Air India on Wednesday said it has launched wireless in-flight entertainment service on its existing wide-body aircraft till their retrofitting is completed.
The Tata Group airline is in the process of refurbishing its old fleet and introducing new ones, but many passengers have complained that the in-flight entertainment systems on some of its planes are malfunctioning or not working.
Vista, the new in-flight entertainment service recently introduced on existing wide-body aircraft, will also be available on narrow-body aircraft, although the service will not be available on the new Boeing 777 and A350 aircraft, according to the announcement.
The airline added that Vista has been introduced on its existing wide-body aircraft to provide uninterrupted entertainment to customers until the renovation works are completed.
Air India’s new wide-body jets are getting a new in-flight entertainment system. The airline operates a fleet of 140 aircraft.
Vista will allow passengers to stream content on their personal electronic devices as well as provide a live map display for flight tracking.
