UAE-based insurance marketplace Policybazaar.ae reported a 182% increase in customer enquiries regarding 2024 travel insurance from last year.
According to the data, the increase was mainly driven by travellers aged between 25 and 40 years old, who accounted for 85% of enquiries, while the family traveller segment accounted for 60%, making up the largest share of the market.
Policybazaar.ae also noted that the top four destinations enquired about or travelled to by UAE residents in 2024 so far are the United States, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia.
The shortest average trip length in the study was nine days.
With the UAE experiencing scorching heat at the start of the summer holidays, holidaymakers may be inclined to opt for cooler climes when choosing summer travel destinations.
Another important trend is the rise of remote work, especially among people under 40 years old.
As more people combine business and leisure travel, the demand for comprehensive travel insurance is growing.
Neeraj Gupta, CEO, Policybazaar.ae concluded: “The rise in enquiries regarding travel insurance reflects the dynamic change in traveller behaviour and the shift in traveller mindset as they prioritise safety, preparedness and the desire for a seamless travel experience.”
